Wrong value in displays in address book under "email address" column
In my address book, in the "Email Address" column, the following value displays: "/o=First Organization/ou=Exchange..." so on all the way down. I'm at a loss as to why this value is mapped to the email address field. In Active Directory and Exchange the email address field displays normally such as jason@mycompany.com but not in the address book. Any ideas?

A little more detail...At first I thought this might be related to my GALSync but it displays the same for mailboxes that are local to my exchange server and for contacts that are created by GALSync. I am running Exchange 2007.

Actually it's the other way around. The addresses you're seeing are the "real" addresses used by the MAPI protocol within outlook and Exchange. They're x500 addresses and can be found in AD in the legacyExchangeDN property. If you were to dig in to the properties of contacts and recipients on email messages you'd see these type addresses.Does the same show in OWA?Is the Outlook client in cached mode or online mode? does it make a difference? It seems like perhaps the OAB isn't being correctly generated and/or distributed.

The address book does not display the x500 addresses in OWA. It also does not occur when I am not in cache mode so you are correct, definately the OAB is wrong. But how do I fix it?

Hi, Please delete the OAB from \Exchange\ClientAccess\OAB and then restart the Exchange File Distribution Service on the CAS server it will copy the files over from the Mailbox server to \ExchangeServer\ClientAccess\OAB\<OABGrid>. How Exchange 2007 OAB Files are replicated to a Client Access Server for download http://blogs.msdn.com/dgoldman/archive/2006/08/25/How-Exchange-2007-OAB-Files-are-replicated-to-a-Client-Access-Server-for-download.aspx Regards, Xiu
